This is a docudrama movie about Aussie legend Nicky Barr of 3 squadron RAAF. Very creative use is made of the Armed Assault game engine to enhance the human interest and ground action.

This is a very unique movie with a simple idea portrayed with originality. It is ostensibly the view of an air to sea battle in the Pacific during WWII as seen through the movie camera of a Japanese sailor on board an Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier under intense air attack by US Navy fighters and bombers.

This short movie tells a simple story of an RAF encounter with a German Panzer unit during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. It dramatically raises the bar for the incorporation of live human actors in a Fight Sim movie attaining unprecedented levels of realism.

Shadow on the Sun by VR NateDawg
This movie is essentially in the music video genre, presenting a wide variety of opposing air forces in combat encounters in several different theatres of war in WWII. It is especially notable in creatively showing off the variety of scenery and aircraft which are available in the IL2 Flight Sim engine.

Nachthexen by snatchio
This short movie set on the Eastern Front tells the story of a brief encounter between Russian and German night fighters. It stands out from all other such stories in that this one is a hilarious and creative comedy such as has not been seen in an IL2 movie since The Messenger in 2003 and The Entertainer in 2005. Be prepared for a few belly laughs watching this one.

The Storm Of War by Monty-Dan
A superb tribute to the RAF's defence of Britain in 1940, this movie by one of the most accomplished of all IL2 filmmakers employs extensive documentary and movie footage to provide a comprehensive historical context while using IL2 footage to put the viewer in the midst of the intense aerial combat action. This short movie tells a simple story about payback, employing a 'Commando Comic' style.
It presents a significant amount of Luftwaffe versus USAAF Mustang combat action sequences, all engagingly depicted through the use of excellent cinematographic techniques.

Stuka Ju87G Kanonenvogel by TLR
Action movie depicting an attack on Soviet armour by kanonvogel (tank buster) Stukas. These aircraft could wreak devastation on enemy tanks with their powerful 37mm cannon but they were very vulnerable to enemy flak and fighters. This movie is a great example of integration of human actors in a movie made with the IL2 engine.

School by Fighting Woodpeckers
Although this is not a combat movie, School is well worth watching if you appreciate the difficulty of flying aerobatic manouevres in very tight formation. A well filmed display by the best aerobatic team in the IL2 community.Search
